Evening all,
Just wondering if anyone can advise on this. Just had a new alternator delivered from Paddocks. I ordered an A133/80 Magnetto Marelli for a 3.9 V8

Just looked at the box to find a britpart label on the outer box. A non specific label on the inner box and a denso label on the unit.

Just looked up the DENSO code DAN005.
Listed as an alternative to the A127/65.

Now I am no genius when it comes to part numbers. But I do believe that this is the wrong unit.

Any help on this would be great.
Thanks

Are they still selling those sh-tty Denso units as Marelli ? They are rubbish, just send it back - but keep on their backs for the refund, they are VERY slow.
The Marelli unit was OEM,and if they were actually selling them it would be a good deal, but they are not and the Denso ones are very poor quality, and will only just get out of warranty.
Go to a motor factor who is a genuine Bosch dealer and get a Bosch equivalent - it will be more money, but be a much better unit.

I have had good service from the pad in the past but this last order was mostly britpart, one part didnt work at all and another part was wrong, unimpressed, I am still waiting for a warranty refund for the non working part!

Join my club:confused:

Good luck getting any money back off Paddocks. They REALLY don't like giving refunds. They have owed me 70 quid for 2 months now, I keep writing to them but they never write back. Even after threatening legal action I still haven't heard back. I will certainly never use them again and I would advise others to find an alternative source for parts. Yes their prices are cheap, but customer service is non-existent.

thats your problem right there m8, you threaten legal action. why don't ya just take legal action and put the ****s up em, or ya could just turn up at paddocks and start shouting the odds at em while people are in there buying ****e

would it not be a better option to get the original rebuild by an alternator specialist, gotta be cheaper and better than a ****part special

Amen! Every time, it is so much cheaper. As long as the windings aren't damaged ther is no reason not to recondition an alternator. All the parts are available: Rectifier, regulator, brushes, slip rings and bearings. I think I bought all the bits for about £30.00/£35.00 and it doesn't take long to strip and rebuild as long as you have the right pullers/presses.

Last time I did one it set itself on fire. Thought I would play it safe this time.
