Hi everybody
I have a p38 which was winding over when I started it,or sometimes as soon as I touched the key. Either way it would then missfire for the fisrt few hundred yards. Then it did not start, no spark to the plugs and was advised to replace crank angle sensor. This done, still will not start. Any ideas PLEASE!
Sorry this is my first contact. Here's a bit more info, It's a 4.0 petrol with LPG

How have you got on with your non runner? First thing I would probably do if you haven’t already is a good hand and eye check on all the gas wiring and make sure nothing has broke or come loose. Sometimes the wiring can be spliced into the coil wires for an RPM take off.
What sort of Gas is fitted?

The system is REG multipoint
Thanks for that. I'l take a look saturday morning
Ive now been advised that since I had the crank angle sensor fitted it needs to be "testbooked" This is telling the system that a new part has been fitted. Does this sound right?

Gavbriggs is right there, there is nothing that has to be set on the crank sensor. The engine Ecu has crank phases that it sets over time. After so many start and stops and drive cycles the engine ecu monitors the crank sensor and sets each crank phase. 1,2 and 3. It uses this for accurate misfire detection.
This does not affect the running or starting at all.

When you put the ignition on does the engine management light come on, this would just signify that the engine ecu is live.

Lol :)

If it’s between setting a P38 straight or setting a women straight, id take my chances with the P38 every time.

I haven’t found the female diagnostic socket yet, to upload and reprogram
