Hi

I am new to this but wonder if anyone can help. I have a P38 DSE 2.5 and the windows, mirrors and sun roof suddenly became inoperative. I have checked the fuses, taken the centre console pack out and checked the plug connection, disconnected and reconnected the battery etc but nothing works.
I can only assume the chip on the centre console panel is to blame but have no idea how to test it or whether it might be something else. When I switch the lights on, I get power to the bulb...so I know the harness isn't completely damaged...
Any help or suggestions appreciated...

First of all has there been any liquid spilled into the switch pack at all?? Like a coke from McDonalds or maybe the sunroof got left open and the pack got rained on??

These are usually the common causes of switch pack failure. If it was me I would take the switch pack out and then take it to pieces to look for any signs of a burnt track on the circuit board or any signs of liquid ingress.

Lastly if you can, try and find someone else you know of with a P38 and just borrow their switch pack or swap yours into theirs and see if it works. I think you may find damage on the board though if you open the switch pack up.

See RangeRovers.net :: View topic - Windows u/s *FIXED* for an example of what a damaged board might look like.

Good luck and post back with any results

Thanks for that. No liquids though and the board looks fine - nothing charred, nothing loose or corroded. Swapping out would be good - but no-one I know has a P38 so nothing possible there.
