Hi Guys,
Can you please help re correct tyre pressures.I have a 4.6 HSE 1999 running on LPG.The tyres are Pirelli Scorpion 255 55 R18 109 Vs.On 18" Triple Sport alloys.I hear so many different numbers and really need accurate figures. At the moment I run with 40 on the rear and 36 on the front.
Thanks in anticipation

owners manual says 28/38 but it is really un applicable on our roads for example,28 in the fronts really looks under inflated for the tires,i even had people telling me on more than an occasion that my front tires needs air,and i believe that 28 in the fronts will wear the tire more, and 38 in the back will be hard for the suspension and the a$$ will crash on the uneven terrains no matter wht shocks u put, unless u r cruising on the highway with no cornering go with 28/38 !!!!!

I have the same size Goodyear Wranglers and I run 1.9 bar front and 2.0 bar rear, any more in the rear unloaded and it's a bit on the harsh side. I up the rears to 2.2 bar with the caravan and the boot loaded. Those figures are from RAVE owners manual section for 2000 on.
Sorry I had a bit of brain fade with my original answer, quoted the pressure I use in the Transit!

Sticker from ATS in my RR states 28 psi front and 36 psi rear, I did not believe the info when I first got the car but was proven wrong as it tramlined everywhere till I conformed with the recomendation.

Glad you used the Transit and not the tractor then. That could have caused mayhem. :D:D:D

Hey rasheed, still satisfied with ur yokohamas?how many miles on them now?are the fronts still looking deflated with 28?

yes very pleased with them. its true i don't do a lot of miles, probably 20k km on these but very bad road surfaces. i won't say it looks deflated but there is slight sidewall flex when cold which firms up during running. i have even wear right across the width so no problem of under-inflation if that's what you mean. oh and i rebalance and rotate every 6 months which hopefully helps the longevity.
