Hi all, i have parted with my Disco TDV6 as never used it really(only needed for towing missus's horses) so have bought a nice example 2001 4.0 HSE in oslo blue and pocketed some cash, but it has no towbar-anyone have any advice on the fitment of these? which type is best etc?/ i have heard the electrics plug straight in, but bumper needs to come off for bar fitment?
thanks for reading

I've just ordered a Bosal swan neck one for my P38. The bosal instructions say the bumper has to come off.

Didn't you get a tow bar in the boot? In with the jack kit.

not looked to be honest. there are no electrics on the bumper and no tow ball, so assumed that it needs the complete kit. have looked around on ebay and found a new plug(single elecrtrics) which plugs straight in and a new witter towbar, which req's bumper off for fitment, but all new and delivered for less than £14o from fleabay

Mine has never had a towbar fitted. Not uncommon on these Chelsea tractors. Mine spent it's life (from 2006) doing the school run in a little village on Exmoor so never any need to have one.

mines a two owner car, the guy i got it from didnt want one! which is a good thing that it hasnt been lugging tonnes of tesco's finest burgers or caravans around! but i need one to keep the mrs sweet

Darth, I started a thread on which/what tow bar and fittings I needed. The thread was called "what towing electrics do I need?"

I got a complete swan neck tow bar. It should consist of a detachable tow ball, a cross member that fits behind the bumper and a bracket that fits to the chassis and the cross member, and to which the tow ball attaches. I got mine for £67.00 delivered (which also included the electric socket).

Hope that helps
