Hi All,

I guess this has been asked many times. Had EAS fault, checked and cleared fault have replaced the compressor seals overhauled the valve block, change drier, filters etc, bags were changed 10,000 miles ago, checked all lines and connections for leaks [none found], bugger is dropping on rhs when parked up .
Could this be height sensors? as before all went wrong if we ever went over rough ground back would sometimes drop and stay down, and take a while to recover.
Also does anybody have a set of values for original height settings.

Thanks Gary

do you have the cable and software yourself? if so i think this may help a little:

1) When you install new height sensors you MAY need to re-calibrate. The reason being that no two sensors will be exactly the same as far as their electrical characteristics are concerned. The values that you see displayed by the caliibrate program are the ones that have been stored in the ECU. Calibration is the act of changing these stored values. To check if you need to re-calibrate get the vehicle on a flat surface, leave the engine running and shut all doors, and measure the actual heights for each corner of the vehicle in each of the profile settings. If they are more than about 7mm out you should re-calibrate.

2) When an error happens it is stored in the ECU. This is part of the problem with the ECU, once an error has been sensed it will remain in the ECU until it is reset. When enough errors of sufficent gravity have occured the ECU will go into a hard fault (i.e. 2 sensor out of range errors). This means the faults displayed will be all the faults that have happend since the last reset. For this reason it is very important that you first read the errors before doing the reset. I am thinking of changing my software so that you can only perform a reset after one or more faults have been detected.

but it seems you can set the height to whatever you want. it may be worth tracking down a p38 owner with good suspension and measuring/recording thiers!!!
