P38 Steering wheel gone mad

Hi Guys

so here's a good one i replaced my steering wheel with a nice wood / leather one with the radio cruise buttons etc, cruise buttons work fine but the radio one now do different things one the radio volume up changes the radio band volume down goes into mute and the other buttons just go nuts ? and do random things not at all as the old wheel controls worked no probs.

Should I take the ribbon cable out of the old wheel and re plug into the new one or is there a configuration setup to program the buttons ?

No config needed. Could be dodgy switches/cables. Fit your old ones in if they worked ok before
