p38 rear wiper

hi
can anyone give me some advice please,
how do i change the rear wiper blade on my P38, when i turn off the ignition the wiper parks itself, do need to pull the fuse or remove the cowling above the rear window or losen the motor to swing the wiper out so i can get at it. ???

check the manual. turn ignition on, start wiper, goto tailgate, wait until wiper is pointing straight down as its wiping and then press the buttom to open the tailgate. go ahead and change blade.

all done.

I have tried both methods of pushing the button on the tailgate and switching off the ignition and the wiper always parks.

I would really appreciate any help on the issue.

I replaced mine in the park position. Was a bit tricky, but managed without having to remove anything.

And then it worked....

I switched it(wiper) on waited for it to start and then opened the back door quickly and it stopped.... it took a couple of tries to get it right but tis done...
Carefull to not close the hatch as this will make it(wiper) want to park again and put a scratch across the window..

if you put an old boot or whatever between top and bottom gate it won't move!!

gav do you have to take your foot out first?

Tried to do mine at the weekend, had to get the missus to switch it on while i opened the tailgate, tried mine at a few different angles but still couldn't get it done
But did not try straight down:frusty:

depends if yer a short arse john!

that not nice you know i is short arse. i posted my box off to dave today.

I have just fixed mine, the wiper needs to be up not down i.e. horizontal

1) If its loose hold it up into position, use flat head screw driver to nudge inbetween wiper and bolt cover then nudge bolt cover up and then slide off, the only way it will come off is to the side (hence why wiper has to be horizontal)
2) tighten bolt
3) slide cover back on and push down to secure it
