Hi All
My P38 Diesel was relayed home the other day with rear diff problem. I have got underneath and found a lot of movement from the propshaft where it goes into the diff. Looked on rave cd and thought it must be rear diff pinion flange kit so I bought one. I now have the unit on the desk and realize that I might be missing a bearing or some thing as I can work out how this thing holds still without the movement on the propshaft unless the nut holding this flange unit has just come undone or worse the diff is nackered. Any ideas out there?

Thanks Craig:confused:

Well time for an update. Got the old diff pinion flange off and found that the nut that holds it on was only finger tight. It has had diff problems in the past as I can see a rubber gasket where it was fitted and not trimmed back. I have now found and ordered the bearing from the local stealer and will be picking it up tomorrow. My only problem is I cant get the inner race out from inside the diff but having spoken to my local bearing specialist he says that Land Rover might only supply the outer race so will have to wait and see what turns up. The inner race is knackered with marks on all of the roller bearings but the inner race feels smooth so might be able to get away with just inner race. Fingers crossed

Thanks Craig
