Hi Everyone!

Im new to the forum and to owning R.R.

Ive had a problem with my 2000 P38. Only on motorways i seem to lose power to my engine if i go above 60mph it stutters for about 15secs dropping speed down to 40mph then kicks back in. I know it must be something to do with the fuel lines ect.. Because it seems to work fine on lpg.

Only seems to do this once ive been driving for more than half hour.
Anyone else had this problem in the past?

Please point me in the right direction.

Regards

Multipoint systems use individual injecters per cylinder so you would have a bank of 8 individual injectors mounted on the engine somewhere.

A single point system uses a gas ring fitted to the air intake ducting and feeds gas into the induction air.

MP systems use the engines MAF to control fueling amount and SP systems dont.

If you have a SP system and the MAF is duff it will still run well on LPG as it doesnt rely on it.

If you have a MP system which uses MAF data but it runs well on LPG the. The MAF is fine and i would start looking at fuel pressure from the fuel pump and/or fuel pressure regulator!

I would go with your first thoughts of fuel. Next step would be to check the fuel rail pressure, should be about 55 psi. Your Thor engine has the fuel pressure regulator integrated into the fuel pump that is in the tank so if things are amiss then it's tank drop time or cutting a hole in the floor- which seems to be quite popular.
