Hi all.

well the BeCM has been overhauled by Mtech, one fob replaced, both sets of key batteries replaced with correct ones, a brand new reciever installed and still it loses it's key code intermittantly and won't start!

Can any of you out there help me to get my Rangie back in my good books and reliable again?

This time around it lasted a week before not starting, usually it can be up to a month.

Please help!

Cheers.

Mike

is it working everytime on the eka code tho?

i would have a look why power is dropping out. i would also disconnect the alarm amp just to be sure and any non essential stuff like radio.

try also to keep and accurate record of when where conditions etc it happens. there has to be a link to it all!

Doesn't re start with the EKA code and each time it has to go to Landy or a specialist with the kit to get it communicating again.
Each time it does it their does'nt seem to be any similar circumstances i.e super locked or bad weather.
I will look at the alarm amp, cheers.

Try getting the BeCM checked again , had this with mine the BeCM went back and forth like theres no tommorow, in the end they had to fit complate new inside. all done under warranty. only thing i have to change now is the rf reciver at the back.

Well my contact at Landrover has rigged up the Range pig, reinstalled the key code information and found no obvious problems after that, but the vehicle battery I thought was ok is not to well.
So a new one will be going in and fingers crossed their will be no repeat problems.
If so it will be out with the BeCM again and back to Mtech for another fiddle.

Cheers all.

Mike :)

when changing battery connect jump leads/fly leads to the new one and to the car in a way so you'll avoid loosing power to car. that way you wont need the eka and hopefully avoid associated problems!

also unlock car with the remote then remove battery, when reconnecting put the key in position 2 and reconnect battery should stop it needing eka.

if its battery backed up alarm then you will need to take battery of within 17 seconds or alarm will go off!
