p38 lowering

even if you lock it in access mode your still risking hitting anything that sticks up while off road not to mention ruts and wading!

p38's can handle alot of off road-for off road read 'off road' not 'in a large puddle'- and is very capable in most situations!

mine handles well on rough ground so long as the track/ground has no width restrictions!!

if you want to go in puddles then any 4x4 with minimum electrics will do quite well with snorkel and breathers extended, after all p38's were designed as a luxury off roader, as was the first range rovers(Austin Rover Online), and anyone who lives in the big house would get peasants to lay down over the puddle so the p38 didnt get its tyres wet!!!

think its when his brain gets loads of seemingly good ideas and then they flood onto the keyboard, only to realise it wasnt such a good idea!!!

today's tip: better to kep your mouth shut and let everyone think your stupid than to open your mouth and confirm it!!!

C'mon, the P38 was never designed as a serious off roader, not with all the electrofrickery below flood level:eek::eek::eek: It's an American highway cruiser that can manage a bit of dry sand or a paddock with a horse trailer or caravan:p:p:p

I would beg to differ :p. We took ours out for the day laning at the weekend and it had no problems at all with any of it - deep mud, deep ruts, steep muddy and rocky climbs and descents, water etc. There was only one lane we didn't try and that would only have been a problem because of the side steps. It easily kept up with the accompanying Defenders and RR Classic on the rest.

Just got to clean it now.

I think he means the ecu under the seat. But the ecu on the classic is under the seat.People love to slag the p38, not that many have tried it off road. Those who have say different.

Ah. That'll be thanks to rotting sills then, etc. As far as I have seen on youtube, doors are pretty watertight.
