P38-Disabling the Imobilizer

Anyone know how to completely disable the imobilzer on a P38. Getting a bit tired of having to push the car to the end on the street to start it coz I live too close to the local ****in Orange mobile phone mast. I just know I'm going to end up stuck somewhere one day cz something is jamming the RF signal.

just unplug your rf

just take the rf cable off!!! you can only disable the immob via rovacom i think. pm irish rover or wait for him to spot this thread. he knows all that stuff

Yes I would go for the option of disabling the Orange mobile phone mast. If you live in London you might be able to obtain any number of solutions - JCB digger, runnaway Artic Lorry, tank grenade etc etc Think of all the money you would save on petrol if they catch you though !! - am sure no one on this forum would give you up?

Can you tell us the procedure on Rovercom ??

Go into the BECM with module SM022 and change the staus to Immobiliser "Disabled". It cannot in theory be 100% disabled, but in practice it is over 95% effective.
As other guys have written, first step is to disconnect the RF receiver, you can also put a switch in the trigger wire from the receiver to the BECM which will enable it to be switched off if you are in an area where interference is a problem.

I've already got a JCB, starts first time every time, no ****in stupid imobilzer!!!
Thanks for the advice so far, only problem is I haven't got a Rovacom, don't know anyone who has and don't intend buying one either. If anyone lives in the Manchester area, I'd happily buy them a pint to turn the darn thing off on both my P38's.

If someone's got one, I'd be happy to exchange favours......... i'm an air-con engineer, not automotive but commercial. I have all the kit, refrigerant and even a Refrigerant Safe Handling License. I've even got a drop in replacement for old vehicles running on R12 (now banned). happy to help anyone who needs a re-gas/top up.

i knows fcuk all, wasn't me, i was 350 miles away in peckham g'vnor at the time. must have got me confused with someone else!!!
