p38 diesel wont start please help

hi my p38 wont start hot or cold i have to turn it over about ten times before it starts but once it starts it runs all day no problem untill i stop it and then it wont start again i put a new number 4 injector in it because it was leaking but made no change still the same its my frist range ranger..:doh:

first thing has your bat got loads of life? then crack a injector open get some body to turn it over and see how long befor you get fuel out. it could be as easy as air lock or fule running back

Have you replaced your leak off pipes?

Mine is having number 4 injector replaced next week as same issue, strange that it's always number 4 injector that goes (my garage says it's the only one they seem to replace).

Number 4 injector has the needle lift sensor.

And is that more likely to break?

Apparently they seem quite difficult to get hold of, my garage could only fine one in all their suppliers?

I suspect it is changed more often as it has the sensor. Probably it is often changed for no good reason to try to eliminate a problem knowing the way garages work
