Hi

I have just purchased my first RR p38 4.0 petrol & LPG converted.

My vehicle currently has a single exhaust.

I want to hopefully but a dual silencer system at the back end. So what I'm trying to say is I have found very cheap rear dual silencers from a diesel.

Can someone please advise if I can fit these on my 4.0 petrol?

The parts I'm wanting to fit are the dual rear silencers, which are complete joining one outlet which I presume goes in the central silencer.

I don't know much about RR but have described To the best I can.

Any help would be appreciated by the veterans on this site.

Regards
Hussain

if you Google under images the silencers for a diesel and a petrol you could then see the differences, or flebay it, i can't see a reason why you could not use either. or ring land rover dealers, if anyone knows they will. :)

The earlier P38's with a single exhaust system do not have the hangers welded to the chassis to support the l.h silencer. Also the infill plastic panel at the rear of the l.h. wheel arch protector to the bumper is different. I also think the rear mudflap (L.H.) is different, to clear the silencer.
Check on Island 4x4 website for silencer part nos. petrol versus diesel to see if they use common parts.
