My p38 has got air in the water not CO2. Its had the block refurbed, head has been pressure tested twice and skimmed once. All new hoses, water pump. stat, and temp sensor for the dash gauge as this was faulty. Air is in from the first time off starting engine and builds up pressure enough to blow the pipes off but not through the expansion cap. . This is costing a fortune to sort out, as got a few people stumped so any ideas would be appreciated. Bazz. Original block split.

Hi there.
Did u check the rad bleed pipe if it is clear and throwing back water to the exp tank?and wht abt the viscous fan?it can b the exp tank cap also, the valve inside of it could b stuck closed!preventing exessive steam to escape thus blowing the pipes, one more thing, check the overflow hose on the exp tank, the short one under it,blow in it 2 c if it is open,as well as the bleed pipe blow in it.ask me how i know!!!

is it lpg? if so disconnect the lpg/turn it off at the tanks and see if the issues continues. if it doesnt replace the vapouriser!!

Unfortunately pressure testing does not always find a cracked head:eek:
