Hi all.
I've got a fault with my air suspension that doesn't seam to fit into any of the threads I've seen posted...
Basically it's been fine until 3 days ago when driving along i got the 'suspension failure' on the dash but it didn't lock out the suspension button or restrict special programs.

It felt OK so finished my trip and in the morning it was on its bump stops all round.
I tried to pump it up and nothing physically seamed to happened but the button was lit up correctly, then it showed 'lifting slowly'....I waited about 5 mins as it slowly came up to drive height then set off.
When I got to 30mph I got the 'slow down or suspension will lower' message so it thought it was in the higher position.

It wont raise to the higher level and now I'm getting 'suspension will lift when pump cools' and 'reset hight when clear of obstical' messages.

It thinks it's lifting to off road hight but isn't all of a sudden.
I have noticed that the fronts drop right down than after a few hours the rears follow.
I can't hear any leaks but as I can't get it to lift all the way up it may be a split air bag that's leaking slowly through a fold in the rubber.
I've had a split bag last year and it was very obvious what the issue was.

So....is the pump needing a rebuild? Its not blistering fast to lift these days.....could it be the front valve block that's blocked as the coolant has digraded? Or am I way off mark?

It's not had a battery in a few years so could it just be that?

Thanks in advance.

Sounds like the compressor is worn out.
If you had a split bag did you only replace that 1? If so then the rest are probably doing the leaky thing now from your description.

Oh and welcome :).

Hi Marjon.
It just seams odd that it thinks it's in off road hight but it's not, like a sensor is faulty?

Then you have leaks.

As I said if 1 bag has gone then others will follow soon.
It is overworking the compressor which is then reaching its over temp and shuts down for a while.

It’s trying to get to that height but can’t then gets confused.

I will look up the code if I have for your year, but I sort of know as been here before.

Oh have you had any work done on the axles/wishbones/bushings recently?

Hi J.
I kind of know the compressor is due some TLC, the kit ordered.
The rear bushes are squeeking like mad!....its on my to do list but im half way through building my new garage at home so have been turning up the music!
No work has been done under her for a good year, im guilty of neglect, I just wanted to throw it out there to see if someone with more knowledge than me could put a pin in it.

It's the fact she thinks she's at full hight that's giving me second thought as if it's a sensor that's gone out of calibration....not for the first time!
I've felt for a while that the auto self leveling function hasn't been working.

I'm treating her to a new battery tommorow any way, it can't hurt.

Thanks for your replies guys....keep them coming!
