Do a little search on the forum and you will find almost everything. (Not the google but underneath)
Quite a few diagnostics can check/reset srs system, it can be one of the two bulbs in the dash etc. Autologic, Nanocom, Testbook, Lynx + more can communicate.

For diagnostic on the P38 Range Rover - you will need a unit designed for Land Rover use...LR used a uniquie interface protocol for their systems, whereas the petrol engine ECU is EOBD (OBDII) compliant...the Diesel model will only talk to LR based diagnostics or for the Engine ECU a Bosch system!

Faultmate and others can communicate with the SRS ECU. The steering wheel rotary coupler is one possible cause, also if an airbag has ever fired the ECU will have to be replaced.
Put your approximate location, there may be someone nearby with the kit to check it.

thanx all,im in north kent if anybody can help with the right testing gear,,and yes no connectors under seat,im not sure whether units have fired at all,,is thier any way of checking,,

thanx again DATATEK,,But batterries a goodun only 3 months old and kept regularly charged, got friend trying to sort tech 4 check so fingers crossed

hi Druim

yes i can remove by pressing lower button on stalk the display goes through the options on fuel, and trips,,also the SRS light is flashing,,have checked bullbs all good, have noticed in engine bay that i have some serious extra earth leads attached to various parts they all look like was proffesionally done aswell, probs had earthing problem in past,by the way mine is a jap import if that makes any difference, was also trying to work out why i have no beep from alarm, lights flash but wont work with fob,so just use key anyway,,just a minor issue lol,

Please be very careful when working on the SRS and never use any multimeters or other general test equipment on components or connectors.

The SRS system uses energy reserve capacitors to keep the system active if electrical supply failure under crash conditions. Always remove the ignition key from the ignition switch, disconnect the vehicle battery and wait 10 minutes (make it 15) before working on the SRS.

Thanks for the advice and ohh yesssss,, battery is dissed for 15 minute minimum before taking apart ( half hour to be safe ).
