hi guys a update

i took it to a garage today they put it on the logic comp and it reset the fuel adaptions for me the car still does the same jus about starts if your lucky

they put in new spark plugs as the old ones were quite black

the car stil doesnt drive on petrol as soon as you rev to 2-3k it starts to die

what else could be wrong? could it be a fuel reg at all?

they charged £170 for checking it on the comp, 1 hour labour and new spark plugs

they wanted to have it in for another day or so i decided not to take it back as thats alot of money already for a hours work that they took so long on

on lpg its fine and drives

if you look at rave or indeed take things logically then there is only a few things that can go wrong really.

its just occurred to me, could the gas ecu be interfering with the normal operation of the engine, possibly???

if the senors, crank, cam, maf are ok and its getting the spatk then its doen to the fuelling. intake, throttle position etc.

they aint complex systems. but i would say that the spark should be ok co the gas works fine.

is the fuel line ok?

how much petrol is in the tank?

the garage didnt check the fuel pressure

they jus connnected the auto logic comp up and starting looking for errors codes

im going to either get another garage to check the fuel pressure or buy a unit my self

so far i have changed the fuel filter, pump, sparks, leads are good, maf,

now looking at the fuel regulator and other sensors.. that could cause this

could a faulty temp sensor or the one next to it cause any starting or reving issues?

i know it wont start if you take one of the wires off, cant remember which tho!!!

if i rev the engine to the point where its cant rev no more which is 2-2.5 revs and push the tyre like valve in on the fuel rail

petrol jus spills down should it be flying out at pull pressure this is at 2-3k revs while the car is on a standstill

does this mean the fuel regulator could be gone?

I would still strongly suggest getting the fuel pressure checked as this is still an unknown quantity. Any reasonable garage should be able to do this for the price of a drink. The pressure test point is easy to find on your gems engine.

On the later engines, it should be 52 psi - 3.5 bar. Get it checked.

Would clamping the return a little help prove the theory? Obviously don't clamp it fully but enough to increse pressure? If it runs better then it's that????
