Hi folks, had an issue last week with my 03 td5 revving at 1500rpm at idle in N (auto). Went back to normal on next startup.
Then today it did it again whilst driving; ie it wanted to rev at 1500rpm off the throttle. Turned off and on then ok. 2 mins later M and S flashing and no drive. Off and on back to normal. Had Hawkeye with me and am getting a transmission code of 18 p1884 CAN message throttle angle invalid intermittent.
Have i got a dodgy throttle position sensor or pedal? Any help grateful received as im on holiday with the car!
Cheers

Thanks sierrafery. Ill get a good used pedal and see how i go. Hopefully the pedal and tps are the issue. I had always thought it had too much travel before kicking in so wondering if its all linked. Will report back the outcome.

A good used throttle pedal has sorted this based on a 20 minute test. Car drives a tad better in terms of gear changes. Could be my imagination though!
Wasnt easiest job in the world, fiddly as. A 1/4 drive wobble plus extension and 13mm 1/4 socket is the tool for the job. One both nuts off it unclips off the plastic bracket. Loom unclips via plastic tang facing you.
