Cheers skinny Mike am in Llanrwst going to give 4x4 place at st. Asaph a ring to see if they have got one. Limited internet and phone here

Map ordered will give it a go also got another boost solinoid second hand just in case the new one was faulty

I would not worry too much as there is a speed limit towing a caravan or any trailer and it will keep mr plod away from you. good luck

Update
Have replaced map sensor. Readings seem to be lower than the old one..have ran two bottles of turbo cleaner through the tank. Engine seems more responsive. Egr back on. Just need to put caravan on to try it. Lz12 will be a good test lol

Well hippo still coming up with p1470 turbo boost , having changed map and run double strength turbo cleaner through. Only happens when caravan in tow under load when you put your foot down. Landing at lz12 no problems. Tow caravan home and it's back..did notice that when you pull up a hill doing 50 in 3rd gear the maf reading goes to about 1100g/stroke and it goes into limp mode. Might try another maf and pos another turbo boost solinoid in case the new lr part if faulty. Any ideas would be welcome as nearly replaced everything. Cheers

How are the vacuum pipes? P1470 is loss of boost pressure iirc. This is normally because a boost hose has split or come off. However it could also be a vacuum leak, which affects the boost control to the turbo vanes.

Hi nodge have replaced every vac hose from the main T near one way valve on vac side. Have done a leak test was about -14 psi and no leaks found including vac reservoir cheers

Just had another look at pipes. Paranoid now all seem tight. Checked pipe at back from turbo to steel pipe. Looked like it has moved both hose clips tight. Had a liberal coating of mud from last weekend but it does look like it has moved. Too clean. Could be what I am looking for. Time for new silicone pipe and clips. Fingers crossed

The saga continues. Replaced L shaped hose at rear on turbo with silicone, ran some more cleaner through checked all hoses, put caravan on to go to Pembrokeshire , every hill was limp mode so that didn't work. Borrowed a mates Ron box and maf and took with me, put it on a couple of days before we were due to come home. Seems to like setting 2, what a difference it makes, pulled caravan home no problems no limp mode just a nice drive. Must have been the maf slightly out of cal as without the caravan it's perfect . Decision time do I buy a ronbox and maf or a new maf.

Buy a cheap MAF off ebay. - or if you are electronically minded I posted a circuit for a MAF amplifier.
NEVER buy a ronbox / synergy thing to 'fix' a maf issue - total waste of money for that purpose. All the talk of 'pierburg' maf units etc etc is total and utter BS. A maf is a very simple unit these days (the internals are minimal due to all the main components being contained on dedicated IC's. The ebay ones will be fine. :).
The synergy things have their place - but certainly not for MAF units.
Enjoy :)

Decided to leave it on as makes a world of difference towing the caravan. Tried a mates original maf and you can tell the difference . Suits me with the extra power.
