"P" position not working

I noticed today when I parked up on a slope with the gear selector in the park position the car rolled ever so slowly, seems like the previous owner may have snapped the pawl that locks it up ...... Is it any easy change ? Or should I just forget it and rely solely on the handbrake

Assuming it's not an adjustment problem with the selector cable, IMO forget it.

I get this now and again, also select in R it dosen't always engage first time, I just move it slightly and then it catches.
Is this happening all the time or justy intermitent. If it happens in other positions sounds like an adjustment job as suggested by Datatek.
