Overfinch D1 anyone?

I love the range rover but that disco is quite special too. Not £16.5k special IMO but its stunning. That's just been featured in LRM with a good write up. Somebody in another forum found a tatty example and ripped the guts out to put into a 90 last year. Thought that was a shame.

Yeah it was the guy on here, forget his forum name now, that incredible 90 that got built ground up with a 350 small block stroked to 383, all the gubbins came out of an overfinch disco which got scrapped.

Body was shagged but I thought it was a terrible thing to do!

Very rare, but yes a couple were made by Overfinch. I know because I bought one direct from Overfinch many years ago and I still have it. Some details on this site if anyone is interested: http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/...=The+Overfinch+Discovery+legend+is+true&mid=0

My posts with pictures are under name comeinhandy. My car was also featured by Iwema when they were involved in the LPG conversion:

It had a different air filter back when this was taken, I subsequently upgraded to a cold air K&N intake arrangement. Many other upgrades also done since then: Limited slip and stronger Ashcroft rear diff, stiffer springs & poly bushes, double thickness flexi plate in a stronger HP24 spec auto box, bigger tyres and spacers.

Occassionally think about selling it and may be persuaded by a good offer, but it's such a great multi purpose car it has also fitted all my needs so well - fast, deceptively so! 7 seats, great load carrier etc.

Noiseman.

I was very sad to use the Overfinch discovery as the donor vehicle for my
90 - but it was a question of economics I am afraid

I had bought it with restoration in mind but to do it to the correct standard would have cost a fortune that couldnever be justified - look a the one at Kingsley cars

24000 quid plus 8 grand for the car and he still can't shift it for less than
Half what it cost him.

So - some regret - but look what I achieved - probably the fastest
coolest and comfortable 1985 90 CSW in the country - if not quite the most
economical!
