So this weekend I was over in Wales with my other half and on the way back the dash went from showing me how many miles to "<50 Miles Refuel range"

so as I was only around 26miles from home and I almost drove home, but I didn't for some reason I pulled in at a fuel station and just 6 ft away from the pump it cut out and wouldn't start so I had to fill a container from the boot and fill it that way much to the amusement of the other pump users.

so just how accurate is that information on your dash??

Why didn't you just push it the 6ft??

Probably not as accurate as your fuel guage ;)

Same issue with mine yesterday. Just registered less than 50 miles as we pulled up at the local lake to take the dogs a walk. Started up later & was spluttering & just managed to get to the garage 3 miles away.
Lesson learned....dont trust the fuel guage.

I only recall having the low fuel light on my dash once. Didn't get a less than 50 miles warning though. I don't like getting low enough on fuel I'm in the red, just because I never know when I might be called up, so I rarely drop below 1/4 of a tank.

Wouldn't be an issue if I lived somewhere sensible, but round here all service stations close at 2200hrs sharp and don't open until 0700hrs. Kind of leaves you up a creak without a paddle if you're out at night and let the tank run low. I miss 24/7 convenience some times.

It's annoying paying for Dino fuel at £1.41 a ltr when I could have made Bio at home or filled up with fat

Yeah, I've been toying with the idea of turning my 100% meat eater into a veggie. I can get veg oil so cheap from Bookers, it'd be rude not to.
