Ouch! £600 for new injector + Labour!!!

I have just been quoted £600 for a new injector for my TD5. This includes Labour.

Am i being ripped off?

I thought these things were supposed t be reliable.

Was the cost of vaseline on top of that or do you have to bring your own?

i'll save you 50quid and do it for £550 and i'll even let you have a coffee if you'd care to wait while it done. might even throw in a chocy biscuit aswell

Duck a *uck, I thought £85 each + VAT for a 200 TDi was bad.
On that note can I get them cheeper?

i think you have got this wrong, i reckon its 600 quid for an injection pump. i had to have one on my 200 and tey wanted750 quid. i got the old one reconditioned for 400

td5 injectors at a main dealer at aprox 400-450 quid, they are not cheap although you will be able to get them cheaper from other online recources no dought

They don't have an injector pump. Thats why the injectors are so pricey, each one IS a pump in itself, driven off the cam shaft.

it does not have an injection pump, they are electronic injectors
