Yesterday I had my subscription suspended because my payment card had
expired on 1Apr but no warning. I went to Firstgate and made a payment
with another card but it still gave me a disabled status. I sent
news.individual.net an e-mail and Bettina replied within 30mins and
had reinstated me!

In the meanwhile I went to my ISP's news feed which took ages to
download all the headers but worked, it also carries 95k usenet
groups. The spam level in my normal ones was quite noticeable, I have
reverted to news.individual.net now.

This happened to me last year, Nige. It started asking for username and
password, but kept rejecting them. I ended up re-registering (it was free
then), but it seems that it won't accept a new registration from the same
email address. I had to use a different addy to set up the new account.

Pipex outsource to Giganews - you'll need an uid and pw to access it
too.

Dunno about BT titternet, but either way, I'm happy with NIN and can
live with occasional billing issues if they happen, as the service
(nntp) is second to none IMO.

Aye, it be me! I have tried until my cock falls off to sort this NIN problem & dont have a clue whats
going on. Pipex are my ISP anyways & it seems decent enough for my uses!

I'd say that pipex are a 'real' ISP, so their news server probably
works. Youd be having much less fun using one of the cheap ISP's

It could have - my (brand new) 5.2L gas flow TVR V8 - but it'll cost
you an extra 8K I'm afraid :)

No, i went away with a right bargain, a nice sony phone. Unfortunatly, the 'ecstacy' of the purchase lead
me to forget the offer of a seat in Grumble!! I was most disconcerted to find the 'phone' had indeed been
mauled to some degree by a big **** off purple monster as the loon that 'attacked' the phone even put a
video of his utter devastation in the box!! Perverted or what!

Did you join the pay service around when they started charging? If so
then that is all falling due now. I've had the e-mails from Click 'n Buy
in the last few days. Suggest you e-mail 'em they take their service
seriously unlike many organisations these days.
