Evening Gents,

Where do you guys go for LR parts?

Ideally I’d like to use just 1 supplier, any thoughts...?

I’ve just realised I might be breaking some rules? If so, please remove the post, I’m new on here!

Depends on your priorities really. If you only want to deal with one supplier, you'll have to overlook the fact that you might pay more for some stuff than you would elsewhere, or that the source of the parts might not be to your preference.

I tend to shop around and compare item prices, delivery costs and whether genuine/OEM/aftermarket (as some things are best kept 'genuine'). You also have to take into account that many of them only have free delivery over £50, so buying say, £200 worth of stuff from Paddocks, then going to Island 4x4 for something else worth £20 is going to incur delivery charge and probably wipe out the saving you thought you making!

For every recommendation you get, someone else will have a horror story to tell. Personally, I find Island 4x4 to be pretty competitive with price, but have also used Paddocks and Rimmer Bros.

I've tried most of the UK online stores and ended up by using only Lrdirect as they have the largest variety of parts, the best overseas shipping prices and that "lowest price promise" policy for some parts as well

I tend to "shop around" for parts too. In the past I've used lrDirect, Rimmers, JGS-4x4 and others.
Some suppliers will have the parts and others will be out of stock, others will have free delivery others will charge.
I bought a rear propshaft rubber doughnut sometime back and was disappointed when it turned up in one of those infamous blue bags, but on closer examination it was actually a GKN part, so you never know.
Where recovered, recycled or second user parts will do just as well as new, the same applies but Gentlemen of Salvage seem to be fairly OK.

I also shop around although normally average out what the basket would be from each place, to only pay 1 lot of carriage

In many cases britpart acts just as supplier of OEM or branded parts, the blue bag is not so bad as long as within it is some good brand, i've received myself corteco brake hoses or other good parts in the scary blue bag but it was clearely mentioned on the site the brand and the supplier , here's the first example i found https://www.lrdirect.com/NSC100790-supplied-by-BRITPART-branded-LUCAS.html but there are many like this

Generally,
JGS 4X4 or Island 4x4. Another site www.d2bc.co.uk have arranged a discount with JGS, so that tends to be favourite. But always check LRDirect for basic prices. If genuine go to Dan Roberts at Duckworths, again if you belong.......you can get a discount from Dan and free postage.
