order arrived - condition - what do you think of this?

Good evening,

I'd like to hear your opinion on this:
Ordered at land-rover-parts-shop.co.uk Airtex water pump, coopers oil filter, two cooling hoses.










And only one cooling hose...

Airtex being sold by Allmakes?
What about the condition of the pump?

To be honest, I'm not happy at all at the moment, will give them a ring on monday and an email tomorrow depending of what you guys think.

PS packaging of oil filter was not damaged

Pretty bad, obviously not well packaged.

I forgot to mention that the water pump has been opened, packaging and foil...

Do what I done, click on image, wait, pour a beer from fridge, sip a couple of times, walk the dog, more sips of beer, go for a bath, sip more beer, then view the image which is now loaded up.

if they deal with the trade then stuff being opened doesn't surprise me ( stuff gets sent out as a choice and the wrong one comes back how deep are the scratches in the gasket face? are they just scratches or are they gouges? the filter is un acceptable send it back, the dayco box is a hose box yes?? if it is its just the pretty packaging most hoses come in bags if they come in anything in the trade

their packaging isn't the best but overall the only damage (apart from the missing hose) is the filter

It's my third priority at the moment, right after finding a job and getting my landy going again (that's why the water pump, not becuz I had nothing to do...)

I got my list, have been told by a welsh lass yesterday she knows someone who I should ring up, so telephone list is getting bigger, just have to find the time... Last week I hoped I would get to doing it this week, this week, ... well, monday's full, maybe tuesday...

Sorry if it looks funny/weird/anything, but with three birthdays in nine days (wife, son, me) it's a lot of things. And the sucker didnt give me the job, "overqualified"...

"opened" doesnt worry me, but it has hit the table or something, they're not just optical scratches, they're scratches in the technical sense.

dayco is the timing belt, the packaging you've seen, the belt is fine. Just to demonstrate the condition the packaging was in. The package it arrived in was alright though, so must have happened at their place.

Only asked because I sent the link to the Varley I know, but haven't spoken to him lately to ask whether he did anything with the link, or was able to help.

Not very good impression for first order with them: being late though I phoned them up and asked, part missing, packaging damaged, part(s) damaged...
Depends on how they deal with this whether I place another order with them

lots of water pumps (including genuine before anyone tries to shout me down) have superficial scratches on the gasket surface its why ya use a gasket and sealant all those products have most likely covered 1000s of miles before they even get to the dealer

let the dealer know and they will most likely sort it out

Insist on replacements or your money back (including the cost of carriage), and if they want their damaged parts back, then it's at their expense, not yours - I believe that is your right under the Distance Selling Regulations.

You wouldn't accept items in that condition at a motor factor's counter, so why should you by mail order?

Not one to p1ss on the fire, but I ordered a filter kit and some clutch parts from Land Rover Parts Shop and all was packaged so perfectly with such amount of bubble wrap and great delivery timing I had to thank them! You must of had a bad day with them because that filter looks bad!

My filter kit test order took ten days to arrive. The email in the app does not work, I tried twice and after three days it just bounces back!

I'm not impressed yet, will try once more then delete the app if that order fails too.

Can't get service these days.

Their packagings was fine - it couldnt have havppened in transit. Lots of bubble wrap etc, but that means that they sent it out in this condition...
Cant get through to them by phone today, maybe closed on saturdays. I'll try monday

The filter is unacceptable and that machined face on the pump should be flawless. Theres no way it was packaged at manufacture in that condition.

Why oh why do people jump on a forum to say how bad service is with a company, before they have spoken to the supplier,

Yes there are some faults with the items, boxes being open is a common thing I have found with parts i have purchased at the factors, I also have opened boxes just to make sure its the right item as i dont want to get home and find its wrong, if it is it goes back on their shelf.

I wish people would speak to the supplier about the condition of things, then if things an't put right then let others know.
