As my newly acquired Disco is only ever really going to be used at weekends for playing in i decided that carpets weren`t needed and were just going to aid the rust process!! Soooo decided the plan was to remove all carpets and rear seats and go about making the interior as user friendly as possible for getting wet and covered in crap.
So, all carpets removed and got to have a look at any rust or holes that needed sortin
Boot, not too shabby, bit of surface rust but nowt serious
Back seat area, fairly clean and tidy to be fair
Passenger footwell, bit of surface rust again but still solid!
Drivers footwell.... ok, small hole about the size of a pack of fags, or so i thought!! Bit of prodding with a screwdriver and ended up with this.....
Soooo, out with the welder and start cuttin
Sorted!!
Now that was done gave the whole lot a rubdown to remove all surface rust and give it a good hoover.
Then it was out with the sprag gun and 4ltrs of stone chip applied to the whole interior.
All ready for playing now Will just have rubber mats in so any water that does get in will soon dry out and hopefully protect the floor for a bit longer!!
