This is Clay Lane in Gretton where i had a bit of a hair raising experience with a dog walking pedestrian this Moday morning.
I didn't want to go down that road but had to cos thats where I was painting, doing a job for a mate.

Some brave muggle from a neighbouring town decided to go down there last night and of course he come stuck after all the snow we had yesterday

Literally

Both car and the mans pride were hurt:D:D

The car is stuck just below my mates house and the pic is courtesy of his facebook timeline where I nicked it from ;)

Passed quite a few of them last night. They are dire in snow! Almost as bad as a vauxhall vivaro van!! They just don't move on snow

I wouldn't want to be in anything RWD with thin sidewalled tyres! I have to say my GF's seat Ibiza with dunlops on the front and pirelli's on the back coped remarkably well. My Hippo is still orf the road so I'm missing all this fun :(.

I know the feeling Will I'm just waiting for it to get from the artic temperatures to the balmy heights of + 4-5 C to put my head back on the Hippo , having to make do with a 206 at the moment but the wifes going to want it back soon.:(

a 4x4 is no good int garage or ditch .

Sadly so, it's maddening. But there's nothing I can do until me and DD can go down and take a really good look at it :(.

Misery loves company mate, best of luck with yours. Have you done all the other mods? Renewed any hoses :)? Just interested to hear how big a job it is.

I am loving my 90. And to think I live near the centre of Malvern and taxis won't come down near us because if the big scary hill. Been shuttling olds to shops and been going anywhere I want.

A vehicle is only as good as its driver.

I've never had a problem getting about in the snow in any of the vehicles i've owned....including the Disco, my old 525TDs BMW or my current 106. Ok sometimes the Peugeot needs some coaxing round corners with the handbrake but apart from that its been brilliant.

RWD is no probs in snow , its wide tyres and idiots who cant drive , AH3000 did OK into Monte carlo rally fwd is better with engine over drive wheels , think of all the old VW in germany etc JMHO

My Uncle never drove anything but Mercs and his solution always were winter tyres and a bag of sand at each rear wheel arch in the boot.
Problem is those fancy big tyres that are no good in the snow.

All those eastern Europeans must laugh themselves silly at whats going on here with a bit of snow

It's not just the eastern europeans - it's Germany Austria Switzerland and most other places too.

They show clips from the UK in their news bulletins and everyone rolls about with laughter - in much the same way we do at folks on 'You've Been Framed' predictably falling off bikes and trampolines.

I promise you, they are. my friends cant believe the state of the uk from such little snow and such warm temps, as always the uk is the laughing stock of europe-again
