i have a 1989 110 county. picked it up last week having recently bought it. 200 tdi engine. the last 2 days the oil light has been coming on dash. only serviced last week and oil levels fine. was initially only coming on at low revs- start or at lights/junctions. now a little more frequently. any ideas/quick fix?
thanks

oil pump if your really lucky however if you have been driving it with the light on it may well have destroyed the engine that could possibly require a complete rebuild I don't think you can regrind TDI cranks so it would be cheaper to look foir a sh item if the oil pump/relief valve isnt to blame.....Pray!

As wilts said try switch first , if it still does it after , then if your lucky its the pump otherwise its new motor or rebuilkd time .

Thanks for the info. I don't know if this is significant but I have been noticing that the engine temp gauge is also slow to get up to running temp. Would this indicate an oil pump issue?

I would first check what wiltshire landyman said before deciding the problems major, hope you had a good Christmas plenty of snow to play in

never assume anything
always try the simplest and cheapest things first before thinking its terminal

im sure the weather is summit to do with getting to runnin temp, although i dont have that prob with the v8:D

Thanks all. Picking up pressure switch tomorrow and will keep fingers crossed. Engine only has 70k on it and runs very strong with no gremlins or other 'odd behaviours' so hopeful all is well down there!
