My FL2 as been into the stealers to look at some warrenty work that needs doing only to find when they get it up in the air that the transfer unit is leaking so thats another ite to quibble about on the Warranty debate. My question is is there a known weak seal in the transfer unit or will it have to come off and be stripped right down ??

It depends which seal is leaking. There's an input shaft seal, an output flange seal and a driveshaft seal. The input shaft seal would require the transfer box be removed. The output flange seal and driveshaft seal should be replaceable with the box still fitted to the car. It's a Ford part and a similar design to those used on Ford AWD models, like the Kuga. It's also similar to the FL1s IRD too.
