oil leak/mist

Put a Calix engine heater on the car today and noticed that there was a fair bit of oil residue on the front of the engine on what looks like a breather tube coming down the outside. Anybody got any ideas on what it is.

Do you mean the dip stick?

nope it is to the left of the dipstick, large flattish tube about 3" x 1.5", looks similar to the air intake tube that runs from the airfilter. Its dark now but I'll take a photo tomorrow

top hose from intercooler to inlet often splits it would spray oil mist on engine plus reduce boost
