hello

td4 on 2001 y reg just found it has an oil leak and when switched off it runs for about 5 seconds before cutting out,

anyone had this issue?? could the leak be linked to the over running, not had chance to look where the leak is from yet but thought i'd ask incase it was linked and could save me a bit of time

cheers

when you say a oil leak, do you mean its using oil or you can see the leak.
If its using oil, then it may be the turbo seals leaking allowing the engine to fire on the oil. If this is the case then you need to sort out asap as if the seals fail the only way to get it to stop it is to stall the engine and if you do not manage to stall it, then its good bye engine. Do a search on turbo seal failed

hello

its an oil leak you can see quite bad, cars not being used at the moment, its doesent smoke at all which i thought it would if it was the turbo ??? car was off the road few weeks ago with tank pump failure then crank sensor went fixed them and only done abot 40miles in it since and now noticed this issue,

will look for thread about turbo seals and see if that sounds the same

cheers

crankcase breather filter ?

where is the oil leaking from ? does it leak from dipstick if you pull it out with engine running ? (be careful, only pull it a little and cover with a cloth - if the crank breather is blocked, it will go everywhere)
