Hi there,

We just finished calibrating the valve clearances and I ran the engine warm to see if I had any leaks on the valve cover. I pushed the throttle a bit to engage the turbo a few times and was pleased to see that I had put everything back together correctly. After turning the motor off I looked underneath and discovered a small puddle of oil. On closer inspection it looked as though it was coming from the timing belt housing inspection hole. To be sure I wiped the oil off and started the engine again and depressed the throttle a few more times for good measure and peaked underneath again to discover oil dripping out of the inspection hole.

This is the first time I have noticed oil dripping out of the inspection hole, though I did notice some wetness previously but attributed it to oil sweating out of the oil pan seal.

So here we are in the middle of Guatemala with oil coming out of the inspection hole... Could someone please tell me if this is something that needs to be repaired immediately? If so it would be great to know all the parts I will need to order to do the job correctly as it will take weeks to ship from England.

Cheers and thanks in advance.

Gary

as long as it runs out and doesnt fill the timing case and so wet the belt it should be okay, as long as its not going to effect oil level too much too quick
