Oil from the LPG vapouriser?

Hi there, i was replacing the LPG stepper motor (actuator) on my rover 3.9 V8 the other day and noticed what appeared to be a fine coating engine oil on the inside of the pipes leading into the plenum chamber.
I assume this isnt supposed to be there and as such wondered what has happened, and how to solve it? cheers
