oil filter

Hi all please help I am just changing oil on Freelander 2 2011 got filter housing off no problems but I can't seem to get the filter out of the housing any help please only need to put it back on for the morning thank U dawn

I have got the housing off the car but can't get filter out of the housing

should be loose.

I was thinking mainly to hold it while attempting the rotation thingy ...

Ok done it just needed a good pull can't see what all the fuss is about doing oil change on it done it all in an hour and no ramps or jacking the car up mind you the ratchet spanner did help and I am a woman might tackle hubbys new ranger rover next lol but thanks for your help fuel filter next but not tonight G and T time now a.not sure what is the best think to buy to bleed the system once filter is off any help with that would be good thanks again dawn x
