can any one tell me how to check oil level in a V6 and top up if needed

Do as the nice men say & get your mate to recheck his handbook or if he's that useless tell him to go to a garage.

come on guys give the bloke a break, isnt it a bit clear that he didnt mean engine but box oil????

Errrr no, gearboxes don't come in V6 configuration, but engines do so it's pretty bloody obvious that he's talking engine here.............................

sorry bud not sure on this but after all the **** you been getting from peeps that suppose to be here to help, i suggest that you reword the add

and where oh but where like does it say ANYWHERE gearbox oil ? and if so would it be auto or manual ?

as for "all the **** you been getting from peeps that suppose to be here to help", he got definitive answers from the off, along with a small amount of ridicule, richly deserved for him and his alleged mate. Such is the way of landyzone, and it's always been like that.

Take a look at goonarmy's picture of the engine with one eye tied behind your back, and see if you can't still make out the bright yellow dipstick and filler cap.

If you refer to my first post on the matter, I directed him to seek and download the rave CD. It wouldn't get any clearer than that, and that will show him how to do most things to his mates landrover.

I don't mind giving any one any help, particularly with something that could genuinely cause confusion or misunderstanding. When I did my apprenticeship, the guys I worked with were brilliant, but would always refuse to answer obvious questions, simply giving the reply "look again" or "check again"

As to rewording the add, you missed the bit off the end which says "try rewording the add to reflect the question you are actually trying to ask"

not really

when someone asks you how to check the oil in a V6 you assume they mean in a V6

sorry guys if i upset some of you, as you all said is a no brainer to check oil levels in a car any car so i just assumed it was box oil,
just trying to be a bit diplomatic in the new year, :behindsofa:

just hope he returns with a reply
