A growing number of us take our trusty Freelanders oft road. It's great fun testing the abilities of yer rig but there's also a down side to the fun. Tyres can easily get damaged so it's wise to check them over after going oft road. Photo's below show some eggsamples of damage I've done to my tyres in the past when oft road. All tyres were replaced imediatley after checking for damage and finding these faults. Don't forget to check both side walls on each tyre too.

Even though 4x4 tyres are tougher in design, it's surprising how thin they actually are.

I would check my tyres before you go it might be a jealous person but does look as though there might have been some glass ,or even some sharp metal any ideas Hippo? plus the dreaded damage done to the wallet.

You travel over all sorts oft road. Twigs, branches, tree roots, stones, rocks etc. If you catch something then it can easily damage a tyre. If you lean to one side you press more of the side of the tyre on the ground as the extra weight flattens the tyre.
