hello
as i have had some good advise off the folks on here i thought i'd try see if you could help my mate with his issues

he has just puchased a MITSUBISHI WARRIOR L200 non starter on a 06 reg 2.8, the chap he had it off was a friend and when it broke down he had the AA out who said it was no fuel getting to engine, he had a few issues with it not starting weeks before when facing up hills but once running was fine, he thought it may be the fact that he let it run low on diesel a few times.

anyway he stripped the tank of thinking it was a tank pump but no pump so he then sold it to my mate, we think it may be the injector pump on the engine so he took the fuel pipes off and cranked the engine, we thought he should feel some sucking/blowing pressure if it was working ok but cant feel any pressure so does this mean it is faulty??? or can anyone advise how to test the injector pump???

cheers for taking the time to read this and look forward to any help you may be able to give us.

cheers

lol:D well thought best place as most posts are placed in freelander section lol

he prob would if it was insured yet

so any ideas how we could test the injector pump on the engine???? thought it would be sim setup to a freelander??????

cheers

first port of call would be to check/replace the fuel filter,is fuel getting to the injectors??

the AA said no fuel was getting through so owner stripped tank out and checked for c*** in tank, and was expecting to find a intank pump. he didnt and he tried putting diesel direct into the pipes going into injector pump. thats when my mate had it off him.

my mate then turned engine over with pipes off the pump and couldnt feel any pressure on either pipes so he assumed it was pump but i.m not to sure, i have tried joining a Mitsubishi forum but its been 3 days and still not allowed to post threads.

asked him about checking filter and he said the AA did that ???? i wouldnt be to sure will get him to recheck

would you know if he should feel pressure in one of the 2 pipes coming off the injector pump??

cheers

there should be a lot of pressure,if it was my truck,i would take the fip off and take it to a diesel specialist for checking and repair.

Burn it! LOL just thought i would go withthe flow...

can you hear any whirring noises from the pump? is the relay working / fuses?

I had a similar prob with a astra repair i done recentlyit was the ecu not engaging the fuel relay have you done a search on the Mitsi websites its probably a common fault
