Whats the best system to get for my defender 90.

want to load some green lanes onto it and some geocashing sites ect ect.. kinda want it to be mounted to the dash so it looks smart :) love me gadgets !

anyone els running anything interesting?

I have an iPad with an app called "Outdoors" on it - has OS maps and records my route along with loads of other data. Very easy to use.

Google Memory Map, best one by far, you do have to pay for the maps but £25 gets you a fair bit (I got all of east of England, mid/south wales and sailsbury) and its just easy to use and reliable, it works on a tablet, I have it on an iPad.

old asus eepc running memmap on winxp and a garmin etrex gps, coupled with a 500w inverter in the fender to provide power.

all old tech so no worries about smashing it up, and all a updated as it will ever be so nice and stable

Asus Nexus tablet running Anquet Outdoor Map Navigator. Maps don't have to be that expensive (£18 for a region, 1:50000) and I can plan routes on the PC and share with tablet. 7" screen is fine and has built in GPS, though I connect the tablet to my phone for Internet access.

Almost any Android tablet would be cheaper than an iPAD thing.

Hi all!

I've been looking at a setup with a laptop, a GPS Dongle, and some kind of software (most likely MemoryMap) to use for some weekend fun! However I have only found maps for Britain, France, Belgium, and The Netherlands on the MemoryMaps website?! Is it just me that there are any more?

If not than are there any other software that I could use with a laptop and a GPS dongle?

Thanks for all the help :)

I just use the OS app on my ipad, down load the section of the map I want before I go. I just use it as a map tho.
I use an app called cyclemeter it does full gps logging and speed and altitude the works and can export the route to gpx file and then just open it up in google earth.
