Mine is on the nearside vent flap. Been there donkey's years.

This is what we had in mind originally but tis no good if you want the flap open:confused:
Had a bright idea that I would bolt on some angle iron to the top drivers side bumper , but I've got the standard length plate and it's too long :( other options are on the grill but means I can't use my mud muff aghhhhhhh:Cry::Cry:

Mine is stuck to the flap with double sided tape and opens with it.
OK, so you can't read it when the flap is open, but dilligaf?

Another alternative is to fix 2 Terry clips to the back of the plate and clip it to the vertical rollers of the fairlead. Then just remove the plate when off road or winching.

I biught a magnetic one for me rrc and put it on the leading edge of the bonnet.maagnetic wont be no good for fenders but a sticky one would work

one or two ways of doing this
either like mine
or on the grill
the law states it must be on a vertical surface

Got dyneema bow rope so not conventional roller fairleads , although got fairleads and wire if anyone's after them , I'll work it out , will see if I cat trim down the standard plate .

Nope I went for the best option I could afford and saved every penny :p:p
The dyneema rope is safer and easier for me to use IMHO but the wire and fairleads still come with the winch kit and are redundant , if I could flog em it might pay for a bit of diesel ...I'm happy :)

thats what i meant, expensive but the best one for you.glad you got the one you wanted.:)

have a good look at how I did it its easy unless that's not what you want

Ha ha already studied yours drew , and yes a great idea but now I'm looking at the plate there's quite a bit of space either end so I might see if I can hack saw it shorter then it should fit where I want it to go, that's if that's the way to cut perpex who knows:) just fitted the isolation switch inside , will change the bumper over tomorrow then see if we can work out the best route for the wires ...some of your pearls of wisdom wouldn't go amiss here Drew please:):)
