Hello, I'm buying parts for the P38 again (this time a rear exhaust).

when it says (up to VA346794) what does this refer to? I guess its the serial number of the vehicle? does it refer to chassis number too, or is it a separate entity? if so, how do I find it?

Thankyou Muchly!

yes mate it refers to the vin number wich denotes model and year and chasis number is the same on your v5 ,, usually most companies ask for the reg no or chasis number ,,,,when supplying parts !!!!!! regards mozz ;)

By the radiator dear. Black label.
VEHICLE lDENTIFFlCATION, NUMBER (VIN)
lf you need to communicate with a Land
Rover dealer, you may be asked to quote the
VEhicle ldentification Number (VlN).
lhc VIN (and recommended maximum vehicle
wcights) is stamped on a labelfixed to the top
;rane I above the left hand headlight (viewed
from the driver's seat). This should also
match the VIN recorded in the owner
lnformation & Service Record book,
ln addition, as a deterrent to car thieves and to
assist the police, the VIN is also stamped on a
plate which is visible through the left side of
the windscreen.
A. Vehicle ldentification Number (VlN) .
8. Gross vehicle weight (where required)
C. Gross train weight (where required)
D. Maximum front axle load (where required)
E. Maximum rear axle load (where required)

You've probably just got a single exit pipe if it is an earlier model? Later ones had one each side, although I think the centre section is still the same.

I got a very good stainless one from StainlessSteelExhausts.com. Had it 6 months with no issues. Very friendly and helpful company.

A lot of spare parts suppliers will ask for the registration number as they can access all the information from that
