Recognise this type of number?

Hello all

My series 3 petrol SWB has this number tag attached under the bonnet. Does anyone recognise its style?

Would be great to trace where the vehicle may have been used in the past. Maybe military, electricity board......looks like it was painted yellow at some point.

Thoughts welcome.

Good percent was yellow for utility and airport use. Military did have yellow for bird scarers and runway maintenance and taxiers to be recognised by ATC tower staff.

Electric board, telecom ???

Yellow.
I always thought that was GPO?
