Non-scratchy greenlaning on Salisbury Plain?

Hi guys,

I'm days from getting my project 90 finished and on the road after a body change, interior refit and respray. It's looking fairly smart and I'd quite like to enjoy the nice paint for a while before it descends into becoming an offroader. However it would be great to take it offroad and my girlfriend is very keen on the idea after meeting me in a Land Rover in Sierra Leone where every day was an offroad trek.
I live in London but the workshop I use is in Salisbury. Does anyone know of any good open routes across Salisbury Plain that don't involved pushing past hedges etc? Or know where I should look for them?

I'll post a photo of the 90 soon, it's a TD5 but I've done retro with old paint, galvanised cappings and 2 piece doors etc. Looks like it was made in 1982 now, not everyone's taste but keeps me happy!

Cheers!

Oli

Yes I am worried about a few scratches! I didn't just build the 90 to hammer it offroad, I take pride in my work and have created something I enjoy looking at and driving. As with any 'new' car I'll get less bothered about ruining the paint soon enough.

Does anyone have any good routes they can share?

As Mpfive said. Most of the Plains is open spaces. Not much scratchy to worry about, but there's enough of other stuff. Deep water, greasy clay when wet. Acidic muddy water that sets like concrete in about an hour and eats through chassis in a week. :(.

No-one will share routes, but most will invite you along with them. Ask RobinT or WLM.

Nathan, you can't criticise me for wanting to keep my freshly sprayed 90 looking nice when you go around with an illegally spaced vanity plate on your disco!!

Might as well give up on the paintwork now. I put down for non scratchy routes on a laning weekend. Once I got there I couldn't resist :D
