Hi, I've posted a couple of times about the noise on my Freelander but have still not been able to get it sorted either through the the great suggestions on here or the warranty I've got. The noise is basically a rattle that I hear mainly on deceleration in 2nd and on the passenger side of the car. It's there everyday but not there permanently when you drive. I couldn't put my finger on what sets the noise off and I've had all diff mounts, heat shields , gearbox and transfer drive checked out but with no faults found. I live in Warrington and wondered if anybody lived near me would be prepared to have a listen and advise me further cos it's seriously getting on my nerves now and feeling like torching the thing at the moment. That aside I've had no other problems with it in the 6 months I've had it, so not too bad eh !!

check to see if the fuel filter un pump are not loose ,lift bonnet rhs as yer look in at rear near the wheel arch. . . .:)

This may nor be much of a help but!!..after just 5 days our 06 freebie made such a racket that it sounded like the exhaust was trying to come through the floor..a visit to our local dealer saw a 12 year old tech come out for a ride and guess what..no noise..red faced i got him to sit in the back and the noise started..long story short..he subsequently discovered that the passenger front seat had seemingly had a piece of folded cardboard pushed under the rail..only 3 bolts had been fitted at the time of manufacture (the paint on the bolt holes told the story) and we had dislodged it when like all new owners we moved things about to test them..however when someone was sitting in the seat nothing untoward..seems that unless anything is specific you can finish up banging your head against the wall literally....
