Noisy air compressor

hi all
My d2 air compressor has been noisy for a couple of weeks and now has stopped working altogether, on the internet I see you can buy repair kits (piston rings and such) has anybody done this with success or should I look at replacing the unit?

Hi, it depends why it stopped... if it stopped cos it exceeded it's duty cycle and the ECU doesnt let it run untill the code is cleared or there's some other management/wiring issue most probably the repair kit will do the job but if it stoped cos it's motor failed you'll need another, check fusible link FL9 and relay R5 to rule them out

Brill thanks for your reply, I have swapped the relay and fuse over with othe known working ones and now if I as it to raise it doesn't work and the sls warning light on the dash (picture of the vehicle with two arrows pointing up and down) has come on! Any suggestions?!

Find somebody with dedicated tester to read the fault code

I used the piston ring repair option and also changed the desicant in the air dryer. It seems to be ok since.
