Bcu

Hi i have a problem is there a way of getting the part number for the body control unit on my 2005 freelander without taking it out of the car I need to buy a second hand one off eBay as my central locking has stopped working I’ve had a auto electrician look at it and freelander vcu can’t be repaired thanks

Others may correct me, but not sure the F1 has a BCU. It has a CCU. Be careful replacing it though as it may be coded to other ECUs.

Not coded as such but configured depending on what extras and number of doors etc...

That's correct, LR called it a CCU, but effectively it does the same job as a BCU. Interestingly LR call the BCU of the newer LR the CJB, presumably just to be different.
BCM is the correct term used these days, but regardless of the name, they all do the same sort of thing.
