Freelander 1 Noise

Hi guys - 2004 TD4 FL1, at idle or driving at low revs slowly sometimes a low pitch noise like someone blowing down a trombone for anywhere between 5 & 15 seconds can be heard from under the bonnet. Car drives perfectly with or without the noise just puzzled if it is pointing to an issue which may occur. Any advice appreciated

Is the egr blanked ? Sometimes the actuator makes this noise if it isn't disabled properly

Thanks Andy - just looked & yes EGR is blanked off, guess I remove the blank & refit making sure all mating surfaces seal

No need. Just isolate the feed to the egr solenoid. The vacuum pipe is the easiest. Block it with summat. So pipe between vacuum tank and solenoid. The pipe to the egr from the solenoid may already be blocked off.

Seems to have a blank kit fitted but with the vacuum pipe connected to it - should I be disconnecting the vacuum pipe & blocking it off and the place it connects to. Sorry for my ignorance new to these & want to be clear
