update....Car idles perfectly,Still wont rev up and hunting, trans fail safe warning on dash, and the only fault code which keeps coming up is Cam Sensor implausable....have visibly checked all wiring and can see nothing...could this be a fault in my replacement Ecu ? LR Guy said " Timing" maybe but didnt elaborate ??...Wits end is an understatement, car is an 04 td6. if anyone is around manchester and could come and help i will happily pay £££

Could possibly be a fault in the cam sensor. What do you think?.

Im convinced its a wiring issue as ive put a new cam sensor on and no change...does anyone know the best way to test or correct voltage etc,i have limited experience with electrics

Usually about 5 volts, As the signal pip passes the sensor it causes voltage change and a pulse to be sent to the ECU.

Be fantastic if someone with a TD6 could perform a voltage reading on there cam sensor and also at ecu end and let me know the result,i can then have mine tested and compare, not sure of any other way to test this wiring ??? As i said previously ,it starts and idles perfectly but hunts and wont rev over 1000 rpms

Few ECUs on the L322 are plug and play...

I would be double checking all connections there to and all wiring for signs of splits or chaffing.

The fact it starts is a major bonus, lack of revs could be fuel pressure, no air (check turbo hoses) or lack of compression.
Another wee update on my motor, car still wont rev up,found out today whole running live data that injectors 2,3,4 are not being picked up on test, swapped inj 3 with inj 5 and it read inj perfectly ,so not a fault with injectors, wiring loom is fairly new...only fault now present is Glow Plug relay......stumped....could glow plug fault effect ecu ????

All electrics checked, and still no revs over 1500rpm then cuts out, does anyone with a TD6 know what fuel pressures i should get at 1500 revs on low and high side...nobody is able to fathom this at all

I have live data readings from a TD6 at home, when I get back I’ll see if I can post them up.
I have seen this fault before when researching turbo boost problems

Can you do a injector leak off test?
It would confirm that you have no internal leaks in the injectors.
If they are not holding pressure the fuel rail sensor can detect a pressure drop and can affect running. just to rule out?o_O

I forgot i had already posted this on youtube. You have low pressure supply and high pressure rail, you can also see the engine rpm.

Depending on diagnostics, when this had a faulty injector loom i could compare fuel compensation values where you can see below that cylinder 3 was having a hard time.

Have you checked since swapping injectors if the data is any better?

That would be a great help.cheers, wont rev over 1500 so cant even narrow fault down
Just thought i would finish this thread with good news....after replacing pumps, cam and crank sensors , having every inch of wiring checked at considerable cost, and twice checking timing, my mechanic finally found the reason my TD6 wouldnt rev over 1000 revs, there was a tiny sliver of metal stuck on the face of the new crank sensor, which interfered with pick up signal , he suspects that whoever fitted it had removed cover and placed it near some debris then fitted it,car runs perfectly now....end of drama
